Pipeline safety just got a new playbook. Forsite and Flyscan Systems announced a strategic partnership and minority investment agreement on May 11, 2026, aiming to unify liquid leak detection, threat monitoring, and geohazard tracking for operators across North America.

Regulatory pressure and aging infrastructure are driving the timing. Operators are under pressure to modernize fast, and that pressure shows no sign of easing across major basins.

Under the hood, the mechanics are fairly simple. Flyscan brings onboard sensing hardware and software built to catch leaks early, while Forsite brings patrol operations and data management chops honed over years in the field.

Combined, the two pieces form a single platform instead of a patchwork of disconnected tools. Operators have tolerated that patchwork for years, mostly because nothing better existed.

Forsite CEO Chris Havern described the partnership as a push toward earlier detection and better threat prevention. When leaks get caught sooner, remediation costs drop and environmental damage shrinks, and public trust tends to follow that same curve.
